The task of shaping young lives is one we take to heart. Each learner is an individual whose future has endless possibilities – and we strive to help them become confident individuals who can grab these possibilities and make a success of their lives.

Walvis Bay Gymnasium‘s primary school in Meersig, Walvis Bay, offers the Cambridge curriculum to learners from Year 2 to Year 6 (ages 7 to 11). Teaching takes place in English and Afrikaans, we have specialised subjects such as Religious and Moral Education, and we have aftercare and school transport options for your convenience. We also form part of the Curro school group, allowing us to tap into a wide network of teachers and support that can ultimately give your child an excellent education that stretches beyond the classroom.

The Cambridge curriculum

We follow the Cambridge Assessment International Education which takes learners on an exciting educational journey from a young age. This international curriculum provides an advanced level of teaching with rigorous assessments and a unique approach to providing knowledge and education of realities, lifestyles, socio-economic situations (and more) of countries across the world. This curriculum ultimately grants matriculating learners access to over 600 universities in the USA (including IV League), as well as all universities in the UK.

Our method of teaching helps to develop young learners who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged. Learners are required to handle large writing and reading workloads, challenge their own creativity and collaboration skills, and to display self-discipline, time-management and great responsibility in their work. In this way learners receive a solid foundation that allows them to progress successfully to the next stage of education.

Read more on this pathway by visiting the Cambridge webpage.

As part of the Curro school group, children enjoy preference when applying to us from any school in the group. Should you like to transfer to us, our dedicated team of consultants will help you through every step of the way.

Activities your child can enjoy

One part of the Curro education, is that academics are balanced with sports and cultural activities. Participation in activities promote team-awareness, collaboration, and self-confidence. Our range of activities are tailored to the interests of our learners. Activities such as drama and art even give learners a boost in their education, because they help your child become confident in formulating their ideas and making their voice heard.
