Walvis Bay Gymnasium‘s preschool in Meersig, Walvis Bay, offers the Cambridge Early Years curriculum to learners from 3 years old to Year 1 (age 6). Our classes are divided by age and we carefully control the number of children per class to ensure that they are all cared for and entertained. Our preschool programme engages inherent curiosity and love of play, while supporting children’s well-being all-round. We also form part of the Curro school group, and have an early drop-off time for your convenience.

The Cambridge curriculum

We follow the Cambridge Early Years curriculum which takes learners on an exciting educational journey from a young age. This international curriculum gives young learners the best start in life, helping them to meet key early milestones and thrive in and outside of school. This is the first stage in our Cambridge Pathway, which gives learners a clear path for educational success from ages 3 to 19.

In our preschool, we still take a child-centred, play-based approach. This means that, instead of having our young child sit at a table in a formal manner, they use their bodies and senses to experience the day’s topics and activities. This prepares children for the formal learning that starts in Year 2 in primary school.

A daily routine

Our preschool programme is presented through a daily routine that focuses on letting children learn by having lots of fun within a framework. The schedule creates space for creative activities, running and playing, singing and dancing, and so much more! This also provides children with stability and a sense of safety.
