It’s amazing what an individual can achieve if they are simply afforded the opportunity. Dashayin Gilbert, Curro Durbanville Class of 2022, obtained INCREDIBLE matric results and is now racing towards success!

After passing matric with not 1, not 2 but 7 distinctions and an average of 89,42%, Dashayin is pursuing a career in motorsport, specifically motorsport aerodynamics. ‘My motorsport career goal is to make Formula 1 predictable. I want to design the most dominant cars in F1 history. Alongside this I would like to develop my existing aerodynamic research towards reducing energy demands and carbon emissions from road cars.’

This all sounds very impressive! Dashayin is grateful to the Ruta Sechaba Foundation for awarding him the scholarship that launched his future. ‘The scholarship meant one thing for me: possibility. Being able to attend Curro Durbanville opened up countless opportunities.’

We are so proud of you, Dashayin, and we know your dreams will come true.
