Curro is proud to announce the exceptional achievements of its Matric Class of 2024. Learners excelled in the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) Matric exams across the country, achieving an impressive 99% pass rate. Curro CEO, Cobus Loubser, praised the learners, teachers, and parents for their commitment to excellence.
‘Well done to our 2 426 learners who wrote the 2024 IEB matric exams,’ said Cobus. ‘With 70.4% of learners achieving a minimum of a C average and 238 learners earning an A average, you have demonstrated the power of quality education and hard work. We look forward to seeing how you shape your futures and contribute to South Africa’s growth.’

Several Curro learners earned prestigious recognition on the IEB’s Commendable and Outstanding Achiever’s lists, which celebrate the country’s top-performing matriculants.

Curro is also thrilled with its learners at Walvis Bay Gymnasium, a Curro Select school, which achieved a 100% pass rate. Stacey Damster, one of the school’s standout learners, achieved an A average across her seven subjects.

In addition to these individual accolades, Curro learners earned 75 placements on the IEB’s Top 1% subject achievers lists, representing 26 Curro schools. These achievements underscore Curro’s dedication to providing balanced, high-quality education that supports learners in academics, sport, and culture.
