At Curro Online, we offer the excellent Curro education to primary and high school learners. As a fully online school, all classes take place through live lessons with teachers according to a timetable, with regular breaks and school holidays. Since everything takes place online, your child can learn from home and you don’t need to do any teaching yourself. Learners are prepared for the IEB examinations at the end of Grade 12.
How does online learning work?
At our online school, learners enjoy live lessons with teachers on MS Teams, as scheduled according to a structured timetable. All lessons are recorded, and learners access digital material and recorded lessons online at any time of day. These lessons take place in small groups and teachers track learners’ progress on a daily basis.
Learners are required to keep their camera on at all times, so that teachers can engage with them in a personal manner, and notice when their attention wavers. Teachers may also respond to questions sent through private messages during the lesson, or answer a question to the whole class if others struggle as well. Assignments and examinations are conducted online through platforms that ensure authenticity and honesty from the learner. Teachers remain closely involved in the process, and can provide the same level of personalised feedback that learners would have received in an in-class environment.
What are the benefits of online learning?
The greatest benefits are as follows:
Is online learning meant for my child?
Curro Online is the right choice for your family if the following rings true:
How does online learning prepare my child for the workplace?
Working from home full-time or for certain days of the week has become a settled trend for job roles that don’t require an on-site presence – and has become an expectation for some individuals. Platforms such as MS Teams, Zoom, and Skype make teamwork possible, while project-management platforms such as Smartsheet allow project managers and team members to remain updated and on track with tasks.
Learning online operates similarly to working from home. Learners communicate, submit work, and collaborate solely on online platforms, and they have to meet deadlines without much external motivation. This also helps them develop the self-discipline and dedication to hard work needed to start working by their own accord and meet deadlines.
