What do we offer?
At Curro Century City we balance academic excellence with sports and cultural well-being, thereby ensuring that learners develop into well-rounded individuals. Our small class sizes and enriched curriculum provide learners with an inherent dedication to hard work and excellence as well as 21st-century skills to prepare them for the workplace of the future. To that end, our classrooms and facilities are fitted with state-of-the-art tools and learners from Grade 6 to Grade 12 use e-learning devices in the classrooms, rather than textbooks, from the intermediate phase onwards.
Our dedicated teachers give learners personal attention in the classroom, which helps to ensure that they achieve to the best of their abilities.
We are Robotics inclusive
Many of our specialised subjects develop 21st-century skills that will greatly benefit learners in their future workplace. These subjects include Robotics, Information Technology and Visual Arts.
Although teaching takes place in English, we offer Afrikaans as an additional language option and from 2021 isiXhosa will also be offered in certain grades.
Which activities do we offer?
We believe that participation in activities plays an important role in promoting health, team-awareness, discipline and self-confidence in addition to physical and social well-being. Therefore, we offer a wide variety of sports and cultural activities, including Curro Create programmes, aimed at helping learners discover their inherent talents and broaden their exposure beyond their current reference framework. These activities are generally included in the school fees.
Furthermore, from 2021 we will offer special TEFL (teaching English as a foreign language) classes as part of the curriculum and after school. This is to assist our learners from other countries.
How do we use technology in the classroom?
At Curro Century City we embrace 21st-century learning by using e-learning devices in the classroom from Grade 6 onwards. Rather than heavy textbooks, learners use software to view and study from an e-book, which also allows them to collaborate easily and securely with teachers and peers.
At our school, we mould future directors, actors, videographers, cameramen and sound engineers. Our film and media hub is conducted in a free, experimental environment harnessing the creative spark within our learners who aspire to enter the world of the arts. It focuses on four disciplines, namely film studies, sound engineering, photography and music production.
